Think about it…
As you enter 2010, what changes will you implement in your business, your personal life and your relationships? Maybe a specific solution isn’t clear at this time. Maybe you are still feeling a little uncertain and up against the wall. Maybe you are tempted to grab at any thing that promises to turn your business into a huge success when you see the words “simply enroll TODAY”.
As a veteran educator, I stress the importance of investigative learning --- always question and dig for more information. Every kind of crisis seems to bring out the carpetbaggers, snake oil salesmen and opportunists. They are masters at preying on the fearful and uninformed. As the editor of a business resource publication with the mission to educate, support and inspire business owners and entrepreneurs, I’m ready to pull out the good ol’ soapbox again. Some of our readers are panicking and making uneducated decisions because a slick, pseudo techie salesperson pulled some fancy digital toy out of their carpetbag.
Here’s an idea. Stop and think. Take time each day to exercise your creative thinking. Make it a part of your daily routine (even on weekends). Work it into your schedule. In fact put it in your Outlook calendar and guard that time with your life because it may ultimately change your life and stress level.
Our obstacles are directly related to our knowledge base, our commitment to our goals and vision, our willingness to persist without exception and our 100% belief in ourselves. Every possible obstacle placed in front of us can be removed or transcended…if we so desire! Are there diversions, speed bumps, or branches that hit us in the face as we travel our unbeaten path? Absolutely! Do we let them stop us? Sometimes they slow us down a bit because we need to learn a little more or because we’re letting the naysayers, opportunists or competitors sway us. Sometimes it’s easier to complain like so many and blame circumstances but the truth of the matter is --- success is not born of excuses and the weak of heart and mind.
Success takes knowledge, commitment, persistence, creative thinking and belief. Anyone capable of reading BABM can be anything they want, do anything they want and have anything they want.
