So who is this crazy woman and what is she thinking?
At a time when a more calculating and analytical person would have done the math and said “forget it,” I noticed there was a need for a business resource “guidebook” and decided my passion for education and free enterprise would somehow pave the way toward creating one.
How ironic that the very core of BABM is about providing solid business information to help a business person launch, sustain and grow a business, while its founder, yours truly, ignored the stanch business school rules and most certainly ignored the publishing rules.
Launching a new business is filled with contrasts and extremes. On one hand, you are excited about your new venture, shouting “look at me,” and on the other hand, you are shaking in your boots and second guessing every decision you make. On one hand, you feel free and empowered to make a difference in your industry or in your own life and on the other hand, there’s no safety net or weekly paycheck and benefits package.
Although BABM launched as a print magazine in 2007, the company has evolved into a multimedia marketing business and the “go to” resource. Our mission remains strong to educate, support and inspire business owners and entrepreneurs. Our passion is to connect and celebrate our readers’, writers’ and marketing partners’ successes.
At a time when the economy is faced with a major financial hiccup and realignment, BABM is here to help you navigate the prickly path. At a time when the best boardroom business plans are crumbling, BABM wants to help you think creatively and at a speed that will help you keep up with the ever-changing world of free enterprise.
Business ownership and entrepreneurship are not for everyone and that’s a good thing. However, if you are reading this publication you are among the brave and hard working men and women who will be responsible for the resurrection of our economy.
And yes … you are a little crazy too.
